need a scooby specialist
I have a MY98 RS, and I've heard 2 rumors about my engine.
1: i have a compresion of 9.5:1 (which i found to be false, i get 9.7:1 just like the lot of you) and... 2: my engine is built with DOHC, thus my whopping 6400 red line. is number 2 false as well? or do i have some kind of advantage  -j.

Ok,I am not a Suby Specialist, and I am the king of miss-information, but I am pretty sure that you do have the DOHC. But like I said, I am the king of misinformation. Hopefully someone will verify or correct me.

MY98-MY99 RSs had DOHC. MY00-MY01 went back to SOHC

Daniel is only half right.
98's did indeed have a DOHC, but only early 99's have the DOHC. Subaru switched to the SOHC engine early into the 99 model year. |
