Default Hesitation and Jerky Turbo Boost

I just traded in my 2004 STi for a 2007 STI limited. My 2004 STi was a wonderful car that had a very smooth power band. The 2007 STI is very timid in the low end of the RPM band but at about 4200 RPM's the turbo kicks in with a very brief hesitation and a nasty jerk.

Is that a function of the ECU? Is this normal for the newer STI's or should I have it checked?

Bobby

Look here too. There may be an easy tuning solution.

I'm wondering if the high AVCS at low load / rpm is to blame.
