Default New MY02 Service Manual Supplement

Not really a warranty issue per se but this seemed a good forum to communicate the news.

p/n MSA5T0210C

http://www.subaruparts.com/partsearc...ber=MSA5T0210C

Also avail from Subaru Publications, new number: 866 428 2278.
(they have no pricing info yet either. SubaruParts.com shows prices though).

Subaru Publications only had one left, so it will probably be gone by the time you read this. I expect they will get more in.

I believe this is the infamous G1831BE supplement mentioned in the missing manual sections.

As soon as I get mine I'll let y'all know what is in it.

Glenn

Well, I didn't say *I* paid, did I? ;-)

As an example, I think the section "Body Structure" in the chassis manual is completely empty, just says "See supplement".

Great, you pay $300 ish for a set of manual with sections missing, then have to pay for them. The gift that keeps on giving.

But anyway, I suppose they're trying to cover their printing costs.

I received the supplement today. (Thanks, Subaru Publications!)

Contents:

Bunch of stuff on front suspension - new torque/component diagram. It appears there is a running change in torque for two of the subframe bolts. The 2 new bolts are color coded green and have a higher torque (71 ft-lb). This is important if you're installing the aluminum control arms, which require removal of the subframe. (I did mine this weekend, and will recheck these two bolts - they are the short M12 ones).

Body structure - all the missing info on sealing, dimensions, child seat anchdors, rustproofing, stone chip resistance (!), etc.

Option parts - hitch, diff protector, rear spoiler (and safety cable) and wagon crossbars.

Nothing too startling.
