Default Replacing Trunk Trim

On a new WRX, going to replace the factory painted horizontal trunk trim piece with the Subaru SPT carbon fiber trim piece.

Separately, read the factory WRX spoiler was not just bolted, but affixed with an adhesive, that a few have broken even the bolts trying to remove it.

Hoping the removal of the trim piece is instead a piece of cake. Any suggestions, issues or ideas for removing the trunk trim piece please?

Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, you do not have to remove the trunk trim piece to install the carbon fiber one. The carbon fiber piece is a thin piece which has adhesive tape, and it just goes right over the existing trim piece. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you nickn929! Had not considered that it was basically a nice looking, high quality "stick on." Was thinking bolts but hopefully no adhesive.

Going to check with a dealer who discounts them nicely, have him look at their back side and confirm two-sided tape with no bolts tomorrow, and will post back either way.

Thanks!

Just confirmed with a Subaru dealer, looking at the back of the CF trunk trim, that you were right nickn929, that it is solely attached with 3M two-sided tape. Thanks!
