Default one side of my car is higher than the other.

I just took off my coilovers and put my stock struts back on. the passenger side rear is about 1/4 inch lower than the driver side rear. I noticed that the coilovers were adjusted to compensate for this also. What causes this? My mods on the rear suspension are whiteline lateral links, end links and a 24 adj. sway bar. I thought it might be the weight of the gas tank but hight is the same weather the tank is empty or full.
