Unhappy Help clutch not engaging after engine install

Help please!, Just re-installed engine following the procedures in the manual. It was a little hard to get the engine/trans mated for the last inch or so but other than that no problems.
Now the clutch pedal doesn't return and has no pressure. The release fork lever seems to be all the way forward (towards engine). The car also seems to be in gear allthough the trans. is in neutral(the car wont move) but the car starts and runs fine. Did I miss something?

There shouldnt be any air because I didn't disconnect it. It seems like the release lever is stuck all the way forward, it doesn't return either.

Could it be that the throwout bearing isnt fully seated in the pressure plate?

doubtful

more likely, the clutch fork isnt sitting in the throwout bearing.

when you installed it, did you put the TOB on the clutch fork, THEN slide the motor onto the input shaft? or was the TOB already on the pressure plate?

(when i did my clutch, i had to seat the clutch fork into the TOB first, then mate the tranny up to the motor)

No, the TOB was installed on the release lever fork. I just downloaded a clutch install guide from SPT it says to push the release fork lever towards the rear to engage the TOB to the pressure plate, after the trans. is bolted up. I didn't do this because it's not in the engine install guide. So, I'm thinking thats whats wrong because the lever is all of the way forward towards the engine and there is no tension on the return spring.
