Question Anyone ever have a spasm while sleeping that woke you up?

Occasionally while sound asleep I get a spasm that gets my entire body off the bed for a split second, I have yet to figure out what causes it but it's just bizarre. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Dreamed I fell off a cliff and woke up when I was about to hit the ground. Must have spasmed pretty seriously, because it felt like I "landed" on the bed.

That was 20 years ago, and it still freaks me out remembering that feeling.

Yup, happens to me every night right as I fall asleep. Some times it wakes me up. I generally fall asleep very fast, so my wife gets to enjoy it every night. Apparently it is a whole body spasm and pretty much launches me straight up. I generally then fall right back asleep.

Many native American tribes believed that this was the spirit leaving the body to enter the dream world.

And that's why we were able to kill them with a few blankets and a couple bottles of whiskey.

It can't be this. All of the pictures of me have stolen my spirit!

I don't think it has ever been related to a dream for me. I have had the falling off the cliff dream but I did not wake up before impact, that freaked me out for a while.

The second most notable "cliff" dream I had... I didn't wake up when I hit the ground. What was freaky was that I went to sleep on the top bunk and woke up on the floor. I didn't have any bruises, so I don't know if I fell out or what.

My wife doesn't do it as well as any of my ex's, I was thinking I was a freak but I thank OT for making me feel normal.

Sometimes they're minor but a few times it was kind of violent and it actually hurt.

I've done that. It wakes me up and takes me a while to fall asleep. Once I'm asleep it doesn't happen.

My cat spazzes sometimes just after he's fallen asleep too.

That happens to me from time to time. It sucks, and makes it really hard to fall back asleep.

I've also had it happen when I was almost asleep, but not quite. I've never understood what causes it.
