Default Safe Drives 2 for 1 Autopower bolt in Roll Bar and Cage sale!

Two Cages Ship For the Cost of One!!!
5/29/2007 Current manufacturing / ship times are 4 weeks! =)

Bolt in roll bars and cages by Autopower Industries in San Diego California.

Autopower has been building primarily bolt in SCCA spec rollover protection for over 30 years. All Autopower products are built to the letter of the SCCA rulebook on rollover protection.

These are avialable for all GC and GDx Imprezas made from 1993 to 2006 including all WRX (yes sedan, coupe and wagon) and WRX STi models. These kits clear all standard interior and trim and seats.

4 point bolt in rear only roll bars.

Street-Sport:

$404.95
The Street-Sport kit we really feel is the minimum requirement for a four point + harness installation. The harness bar on the Street-Sport kit is removable. For more information or to buy your kit please click here.

Race roll bar:

$359.95
The race roll bar adds a diagonal in the main hoop. This diagonal does not impede in the front drivers and passengers seat area at all. This is the minimum spec roll bar for many race and hill climb rules. For more information or to buy your kit please click here.

Race roll bar with options:

Starts at just $429.90!
The ultimate Autopower 4 point roll bar gives you options of having a bolt in diagonal and bolt in harness bars! Each optional bar adds $69.95 to the cost of your regular race roll bar ($329.95). A fully optioned race roll bar complete with bolt in diagonal and bolt in harness bars is just $489.85 ($ave $20.00!). For more information or to buy your kit please click here.

6 point bolt in race roll cage:

These are avialable for all GC and GDx Imprezas made from 1993 onward including all WRX (yes sedan, coupe and wagon) and WRX STi models. These kits clear all standard interior and trim and seats.

$739.95

The door bars are bolt in and removeable. For more information or to buy your kit please click here.

Shipping:
Autopower roll bars and cages are sent via truck freight with the shipping charges being collected at the time of delivery. That means you pay the truck driver for whatever the shipping fees are when they deliver your roll bar. The buyer will pay all shipping charges. All you pay safedrives.com for today is the cost of the roll bar itself. A custom shipping quote can be provided by contacting us. All customer orders will have the least expensive shipping possible.

Padding your Autopower product we feel is critical. In fact you should never take chances with your head being in close proximity to the steel tubing of one of these kits. The BSCI FIA Rated Roll Cage Padding is the best that we are aware of anywhere in the world.

For the 4 point roll bar you'll need at least two of these and for the 6 point roll cage you'll need at least 4 pieces just to protect the front seat passengers. All padding ships for free with this sale. Please use the coupon code "local" at checkout.

The 2 for 1 sale details:

Ship two roll bars or roll cages (mix and match is ok) for the same cost as shipping just one. Shipping the roll bars and cages can be expensive. This sale gives you the opportunity to save big money on the shipping charges by shipping two roll bars to the same address. Find a friend or forum member in your area that also wants a roll bar / cage and have both kits shipped to the same address and split the shipping charges.

Example:

1 roll bar shipped to a business in North Carolina =~$150 to ~$190.

2 roll bars shipped to a business in North Carolina =~$150 to ~$190. Split the charges and each kit costs just $75 to $100 to ship. That is the beauty of this sale! You could never ship a roll bar for $75 all by itself!

Feel free to use this thread or the regional forums to find another nasioc member that want's a roll bar / cage in your area.

With all Autopower roll bars and cage you will be able to slide the seat all of the way back and recline it to a normal driving position.

Is this sale mix-and-match Subaru only, or can I mix a Subaru bar with a bar for my Neon as well?

Charles,

How does a bar or cage that is a bolt-in cage compare in strength during a rollover situation to that of a similar construction but welded? I like the idea of a bolt-in roll hoop for doing the occational offroad events but what I'm interested in is will it be more than just a false sence of security? There have been a lot of people that state a bolt-in is useless, but I know you guys don't sell stuff that doesn't work so I'm curious on your input. Thanks.

How about a rough shipping quote to 99701 for the race roll bar with harness bar option. Thanks

Obviously welding is best...

It's not going to make the structure any weaker or less safe... as long as part of the cage doesn't break and then put a hole in you

Use the best bolts you can... grade 8 and ensure the mounting points are solid with more then two threads holding the bolts.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your questions.

To my knowledge there has never been any test data published regarding this question. Test data is the only true answer to this question. I can say that an Autopower six point bolt roll cage is legal for SCCA and NASA club racing. Even with our litigious society these race organizations still allow a bolt in cage so they must be reasonably safe as long as they are installed properly. The FIA also still allows bolt in cages for full on rally racing and they do test cages for homologation.

In my opinion a car with a bolt in Autopower roll bar or cage is a big upgrade in safety over a car that has no cage at all asuming that the roll bar or cage has proper padding for the head impact areas.

As far as people stating online that bolt in kits are useless? I think you have to take that with a grain of salt. I have found that many of these comments online come from folks that make a living welding in roll bars and cages. Those folks hate the fact that you can buy a pre-fabbed and pre-painted roll bar and cage (usually for less) since that takes money from them.

Certainly though a weld in cage is going to be stronger and safer than a bolt in cage. But again, a bolt in cage is stronger and safer than no cage at all.

I do hope this post helps.

Charles Buren

Thanks Charles, thats what I thought I'd hear. If its good enough for SCCA and NASA, its good enough for me. I'll be contacting you guys when cage time comes.

Don't know if anyone cares, or is curious, but here is my AutoPower race roll bar recently installed. Thanks Safe Drives

( Don't worry about no harness, that will be in shortly along with a racing seat)

If you had rear seats it looks like they'd almost still be usable.

At least I could still put the dog in the back, I'm definitly considering one of these cages, I'm also around Portland, so shipping = zero ^_^

Nick

PS- Lets see some pics with the rear seats installed?

Shipping to Alaska gets crazy, not as bad as shipping to the UK but still big money. I'll send you a PM now with that quote.
