Default 2007 BMW 335xi (Twin Turbo & AWD) in March 2007

2007 BMW 335xi (Twin Turbo & AWD) in March 2007

So I got to ride in a friend's new BMW 335 coupe, that thing is a beast...so i started poking around and found this... hmmm March 2007

I think this is my new car, with RWD i would end up dead in 1 week, maybe w/ AWD i can last up to 1 month

3 Series 335xi Sedan
In March 2007 - prepare to be dazzled.

This is the time we are expecting the launch of one of the best sports sedans in the compact luxury market.

With a new improved 3.0 liter twin turbocharged in-line 6 cylinder cast aluminium engine block producing a whopping 300 hp & 300lb-ft of torque this car takes driving to a whole other level. The engine may have got even more powerful but donít expect an increase in fuel costs as BMW have worked very hard to keep it similar to itís 2006 predecessor, making it all pleasure and no pain.

With vast improvements on the the standard interior features and many additional options to create the unique vehicle, why bother looking any further than the 335xi Sedan.

You may be right about downtime, but BMW has an excellent warrenty and does all maintenance for free for 4 years. My experience with BMW service has been amazing. They keep the MINI in tip top shape with a smile on their face.

Screw the AWD 335. Keep it RWD.

Shiv has a turbo 3 coupe and I think he's got it up to about 360WHP. I see him going to BMW of Pleasanton for spare parts!

No doubt it's a VERY nice car, but it's gonna be quite a porker. Even the RWD version is almost 3600 lbs, and the X-drive can add well over 200 lbs on top of that.

Looks like a truck dash to me. A sport sedan should have a cockpit.

I believe this will be BMW's real break into Performance AWD cars. Not just seen as an expensive option.

I think this is going to be a car where it will really pay to wait until the second year of production to buy. I'm thinking there are going to be some problems to work out. Didn't they have to make a lot of modifications due to high operating temperature of the engine? I forget where I read it, but one review of the coupe commented on this.

Here's Shiv's work on the prototype. He is pretty active on the e90 forum forum...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31578

I would consider the 335xi to replace the STi... maybe.....

Optioned out, the price will be too high for what it is, and in order to make any real power, you will need to swap turbos - I'd rather have a fully warranteed RS4.

There are very few options worth getting in this car, imo. Just go with the bare minimum, get a full TBE, a tune, and some basic suspension mods, and I'm sure it'll be a fine car. The RS4 is still pretty heavy, and isn't as torquey as the modded 335.

Not to mention that the Audi looks much, much nicer.

Would be a nice upgrade for me. My prediction is $46,000 with Premium, Sport, and Cold climate packages (MSRP)

It should base at about $40,500 just look at the price differences on the 328i and 328xi. Optioned out yes you will see high 40's. Then again all BMW's are too expensive for me. I'll wait on the used market if I ever get one. Too many nice cars are going to be available in the next couple of years. You'll have new and used options aplenty.

TT the M3's I6, with the AWD, then maybe i'd buy it. otherwise it's too slow, too expensive, and not very nimble. the stock one sucks at almost everything compared to my sub $10000 swapped GC. bump compliance is the only thing the BMW is better at. but ya gotta get SOMETHING for that kind of loot!

You are out of touch with reality. Clearly you're not the BMW target.
