Default Impreza L to 03 WRX front brake conversion

I have a 2000 Impreza L and I'm swapping my front brakes for WRX brakes. Would all I need to do the swap include backing plates, rotors, pads, front calipers w/ brackets, and front brake lines?

**By the way, I'm in the market for these parts if somebody has 'em. (Would prefer brakes to be in great shape).

Thanks

Thats about it. I don't think you need the brake lines though. Dont forget the brake pad plate thingies too.

Are the backing plates necessary for the front brake swap? I thought all you needed were the calipers, brackets, and maybe new brake lines--you might as well go SS. That's all I changed when I did my front L conversion to 02 WRX, if I remember correctly. By the way, it's a nice upgrade and not that costly or time consuming. For me, it was probably the best upgrade I've done.

Just the calipers, brackets, rotors, and pads are needed. SS lines are nice to swap a the same time.

It's a great upgrade.

I didn't do the stainless lines though...just kept my stock L lines

no 'backing plates' necessary

Yes you do. Really, calipers/brackets, and rotors is all you need.

It's pretty easy to find the whole swap on ebay or here on the conversions forum. The swap is about as easy as it comes.

I dont know about the sti brembos, but like was said above, calipers, brackets, and rotors. Since you already have 17's you wont have to worry about clearance.

When I upgraded to wrx fronts and H-6 rears I loved it, stops alot better and I dont have to get on the brakes as hard to stop quickly. Definately do stainless coated lines while you do this, you have to bleed the brakes anyway, might as well get another mod out of the way while you're in there.

You can get remanf 2002-2003 calipers that come with brackets from auto parts stores. They bolted right onto my 96 impreza.
