Default omg your car has 3 pedals

so being winter in alaska at the end of the work shift everyday we have "car start bitch" detail where a person is elected to start the cars 15 minutes before we leave to warm the car up.

I've been doing this for the past 2 weeks, but we get this guy who just got a car (i've been giving him a ride to/from work everyday) to do it. the only other guy who has a stick is on vacation so my car is the only standard in the whole pack. well i give the keys to him and he starts all the cars and tell him its in gear so take it to neutral. he leaves right after starting everyones car and i'm waiting around wrapping things up at work. well i guess when i told him to start my car he understood it as try to start the car with the clutch engaged a few times and when you cant figure it out just turn the key to the on position and let the blower and radio drain the battery thus killing my battery and i had to jumpstart the car to leave

i asked him about it today and he said he had no idea he had to push the clutch in and "thought the car was already started" must be one of those new silent starters

I'd have him start everyone elses cars and I'd go out and do my own. But im sure if you go out the and "teach" him he'll get it eventually. But than i can see him starting it one day without checking to see if it's in gear and he'll jump your car into a curb or something.

what brian said , just get yourself an auto start, how far is the parking from the building you work in? you can get them to go from 3000' all the way out to a mile and a half.

With more people allowing manual bypasses to be installed it seems autostarts arent as expensive anymore for manuals. I know perfectionist charged alot of it because Safe and Sound did not install them before. Now they install manual bypasses so the market has expanded thus lowering prices a tad. Plus we have some installers on here, I am sure they could hook up a AKIC member with a discount perhaps. I also like it not because the car will be nice and warm, but because the engine temps will than be at normal running conditions and ready to go.
