Default Question about missing Traffic School

Okay, so I got a speeding ticket awhile back ago and paid off my fines and requested traffic school. I put it off for awhile thinking that my due date was on the 18th of November. I sat down this morning ready to sign up for the online traffic school session, and I looked at my courthouse papers and the due date was apparently on the 8th of November. So I freaked out after ready the consequences of having the due date lapse.

What advice can you give me, and what effects should i be expecting? I'm assuming that my insurance company is already notified, does that mean that my insurance is going to increase for all the vehicles under that insurance policy, or just for that one particular vehicle? Also, the courthouse papers mention that failure to submit the traffic school certificate also results in a held license from the DMV. What's the first thing I should do tomorrow? I have no clue since this the first time i've gotten my self into a situation like this. Thanks!

Just on that vehicle unless your name is also the primary name on the other vehicles.

That's the only question I have an answer for.

The EXACT same thing happened to me a few years ago... the consequenses are pretty lame. Your insurance will go up on the next policy renewal... so if you just renewed then you have a year before you get the increase. For me it was a $700 increase year! And it stays on your policy for three years. I was shocked...

I called around to several other insurance providers and it was the same thing. I asked the agents what their policy would cost with no voilations and then I asked, "OK how about one speeding ticket?" It averaged $700 more per year between the insurance companies I called.

I have two cars and that portion of the policy did not go up when I added the second car. It was the same cost if I added the car and I was a perfect driver.

So all in it ran me around $2500 for the insurance increases and the fines on the ticket.

Thanks for the advice fellas. Do I have to follow through with the courthouse for anything? Someone told me that my license might be held by DMV...hmmm.

I would see if they can still grant you traffic school. Worth while to plead before a judge, hat in hand. Tell them the truth that you made an error and over looked the date... we are talking about a few weeks here. Good luck.
