Default HELP! CE light after SAFC install....

I just installed my SAFC and I just got a check engine light. Im in the process of resetting the ECU and Im hoping it works. All the wiring I assume is done correctly...I followed the diagram from ravens-blade impreza. There isnt any smoke or weird sounds/smell coming from the ECU or SAFC so I really dont know whats going on. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

If I recall correctly its normal to have the CE light go off after the SAFC install. It just happens cause the car is angry with you for messing with it. I'm sure it's ok but by all means someone correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah, I've also initially had the CE light after installing one.

if one or two resets don't clear it, then there's a problem.

All wires connected and soldered securely? Once, the output wire from the SAFC to the MAP wire came loose and check engine light came on. Then, idling was funny. So, I checked the wiring on the SAFC, and the wires separated thanks to my crappy soldering skills. So, check your wirings throughly just to be on the safe side.

I second that. Double check the harness with diagrams from Kartboy's page.. that helped me install it.

This sounds like an i-Club myth of AFC = CE light, much like the AFC = worthless on MAP cars.

are there any gains in horsepower and torque after you install the afc. and how do you test and tune it properly if we cant get a dyno. when my friend did his afc on a legend he got fifteen extra horses on the dyno to the wheels.

just amke sure your connections are securely covered, I put my plate back on and one of the wires hit the back of it and blew the ignition fuse. I got really freaked out b/c the car wouldn't start, then I forced myself to think about it.....turn the key, all the lights on the dash come on except for the CE....that would mean the ecu isn't getting power to something....bammo, simply swapped the foglamp fuse and I was on my way......and that was my war story....

Yes, but you have to tune it first, an EGT or A/F gauge will aid you in that respect. Also in some places there are local AWD dynos.. I found a few in my area.. its always worth it to dyno tune it.
