Thanks for the info. I'm going to opt out of trying to go anywhere with the car; it seems to be at its limit already. I was hoping for something simple like a turbo swap with a modest increase in flow then call it a day.

I have been meaning to buy a turbo for my low grade impreza lol, but it just seems so expensive. And it's good if you know someone that can install it for you.

Someone needs to find some info about the HTA68 on a EJ205. Sounds like a solid turbo.

It says the Dominator 3.0R spools faster than the IHI VF39. But the numbers don't look like they agree. Is the VF39 slower or is the Dom 3.0R faster? Or am I missing a factor all together?

Thank-you for this impressive list dude, awesome job!
I have been doing research on a turbo swap in my 2007 WRX. I am taking the cheap route for now: used VF39 and the Cobb Stage 2.5/3 OTS map. Nice thing about this is I bought all of the parts for the swap (intercooler, gaskets, vacuum lines, etc) for the cost of a brand new VF39.

I plan on taking plenty of pictures and try to do my own write up on the install.

Thanks again for the post!

Default Hks Gt2835?

I already have a HKS GT2835, modified wrx injectors, BDL industries fuel rails, Walbro 255 pump, AEM short ram catless up pipe, Invidia V3 catless down pipe, a SPT Bosal catback, GFB Hybrid BOV, Perrin Lightened crank pulley, oversized TMIC and a Turbo XS unichip stage 2. I've been slowly gathering things up to put it all together at one time. The other things that I lack still are a FMIC, A/F meter and a water/methanol kit. I'm trying to figure out if the Stage 2 that is on there now is doing any good for the options that I have on it now. I know that when I install the rest it will have to be tuned and I was probably going to go with the Cobb AP for that. Any ideas? Iknow that i'm new to this site, but i've had the car for over 5 years and nobody touches it but me. I have a pretty good idea how things work on it, but I need a little help.

I have only found some general information on the VF52,eventhough I looked everywhere for specs on these things. I have an '09 WRX and with the Omori boost gauge I see it come close to tapping 15. Right up in 14+ for peaks and steady at 13 at higher RPM's. Was told max boost is 28PSI, but that's not factual or proven so dude just guestimated I believe. Some excellent info on here for sure! I just wonder what I can do with what I have at the moment. Any info or links would be greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to figure out the conversion factor for changing cfm into lbs/min and lbs/min into cfm. Doing a good search I get several different answers, from .0807 to .069, which is supposedly what Turbonetics use for their conversion factor. With that said, trying to do that with the information on this list, the conversion factor is all over the place; anywhere from .065 to .078. So, what's the correct conversion factor? Does every manufacturer use a different one?

I have always used 0.07 as the factor which is close to the 0.069 you stated ! IIRC Maximum Boost and another Technical How-To book both used 0.07 !

Maybe someone on here has the actual scientific conversion...??

Smokin' Joe - you are right, 15 or so is what I'm getting on my 2009 wrx. Did not want to bother installing any guages yet, so for now I just hooked up a openecu.org tactrix cable with romraider software to the ECU of my 2009 Subaru WRX. I get a peak boost of around 15.5psi (relative), with the computer "target" boost" of 13.34 or so. I read in an old article that the 2009 was designed for 13.3 psi boost (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=130748).

Good to hear Stck4evr, I installed the boost gauge and it's a nice thing to have. I'm still not having any luck with finding the specs on the VF 52 turbo though. IHI is pretty secretive of the stats I guess... I still don't want to push it too hard for ridiculous premature wear and tear. I'll update if I ever find a good link to the specs on this turbo. Thanks.
