Could the STi Turbo (VF-48) directly bolt on to an 08 WRX? Would there be any other changes needed to be made? fuel pump, etc...

You would need to run a fmic to get that Turbo to work or do an intake manifold swap. Best bet is to find a vf52,basically the same Turbo but has the flange you need. Can also look at the BNRturbos, they are offering 16g, 18g, 20g, and hta68, turbos in your 08+ wrx and 05-09 lgt fitment.

I have a VF30 turbo now but looking for quicker spool. I have enlarged injectors and fuel pump. Many other mods done, car has been dyno tuned. Does anyone have any recommendations. Looking for reliability as well. Thanks

Default 2002 wrx ticking noise

Hey. I have a 2002 subaru wrx, it's completely stock. It runs around 5 psi at max. Over the past few days I have noticed that when the turbo spools up at around -10 to 0 psi it makes a ticking sound that comes from the front right passenger side of the car. it's not a constant ticking sound. When the boost is in the negative pounds the boost will usually only go down to -10 psi but since the ticking sound started it will drop to -20 once in a while. i don't know what the problem is. Any advice is appreciated.

I believe with stock turbo in the 2011 wrx's is a VF52?

First is that true and if so, whats a safe psi to run that at since it's larger than my mazdaspeed3 turbo was but not a ball bearing however. Also how can I get it to spool quicker? Just a tune..or have to be a downpipe?

yeah i'm pretty sure its as vf52 since its the same as the 09 wrx
my tuner runs mine at 17psi, says that he wouldn't really go higher unless i got an aftermarket BOV and boost controller

Either a tune or a dp and a tune will help you out, a tune + DP, CBE and CAI made a huge difference for me

Sounds like your turbo is blown. That ticking sound is probably the impeller blades hitting on the housing, very bad! That's going to have metal and drop it into your engine, fix ASAP!
You should be running ~13 Psion stock.
