Is the the blouch 16g xt turbo the same as an evo 3 16g and just named differently? Or are they 2 separate turbos.

here is a question for you all which exhaust housing would be most suitable for a jdm ej207 out of the new Garrett divided ( twin scroll ) line up ?
T3 ,T4 or T25
i want the least fab work
plus if i get the divided one i noticed that it doesn't have a wastegate . . .!
my question is
if i want to have the GTX30R can i make it a twin scroll setup by having the divided exhaust housing ( i think the answer is YES ) but how can i deal with waste gate issue ? and which flanges . . . .
i want to make the order but i don't know what to ask for

Thanks to the OP for a great thread. Thanks to Chrisarella for adding the ATP info.

Can we move the ATP turbo info to the first page from page 13 and add the info for the new GTX ATP stock-location turbos?

Yes, that is correct. The VF11 was used on ALL turbo Legacies in the North American market. The VF10 has a compressor outlet clocked for intercooled applications, whereas the VF11's outlet is designed specifically for the non-intercooled North American Legacy Sport Sedan.

Well didn't find much for my question so I'm posting. I have an 05 sti and thinking of changing my vf39 to vf43. Would I need to change out any extra stuff or is it safe to swap and just get a protune?

That is officially the dumbest upgrade I have ever heard of.

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2-5-lite...hs-busted.html

You need to seriously go with a 20g and do supporting mods. Your about to spend money (I hope you haven't wasted the money on a vf43 already....) on an "upgrade" that will provide you zero gain.

However, on a side note, I guess you could swap turbo's with no supporting mods and go for a tune. Quite frankly, I'm not even sure you need a tune, but by all means do it to be safe and report back. Why you would ever dream of wasting your money on a vfxxx turbo for an "upgrade" I know not.

First I never said "upgrade" and I complietly blew up my vf39 and need a good priced Turbo to replace along with other parts that went with it. I'm asking because the budget is getting short but want a good Turbo.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, you go throw it on there with the mods you have. Or you could just buy a cheap used vf39.

Already did that got s*** out of it the oil seal was bad and smokes like crazy. I'm just going to get a new vf43 and avoid any used problems again. Thanks for the help though!

Question turboooo

Whats a a good turbo upgrade for my 02 wrx. Im looking for a mid-high end used turbo. Nothing too expensive ($600) budget.
Ive been thinking about the sti vf-39 but ive heard bad new about them, that they crack. Also would it bee a good idea to gutt my stock up pipe while i have the stock tdo4 turbo? pros ive heard are; turbo spools up faster, safer, turbo sounds louder. but will it make the turbo a low end or more top end turbo??

I got pink injectors
godspeed intercooler
3" pipping with cat

What's a good turbo for my 09 wrx wagon. Supporting mods are, Perrin elh, up pipe, down pipe, 3" straight back exhaust, Perrin cai, Perrin turbo inlet hose, Perrin tmic, Perrin ebcs, Perrin lightened crank pulley, deatchwerks 1000cc injectors, aeromotive fpr, walboro 255 fuel pump, boost gauge, aeromotive wide band w/ gauge, and Cobb accessport. I'm trying to go for 400 ish whp and thought about the amr cxr500. Would that be good or is there a better one for my current set up. Im goin to eventually replace short block, beef up the tranny and get a better clutch.

CXR500 won't cut it. It's just a 20G.
