Default Stroker Kit Vs. JDM 2.0 / 2.5 Shortblock

Well,

A good buddy of mine is pondering the idea of some sort of shortblock swap.
His options/ideas are either 2.5 Shortblock, Brian Crower 2.29L Stroker Kit, JDM 2.0 shortblock.
This is all on a WRX and he fully understands headwork and other supporting mods are in order.
Can anyone chime in and suggest? Which would you guys choose for some fantastic power / reliability?

Comments appreciated

EJ22t block
Phase I EJ25 Crank
Phase I EJ25 Pauter Rods (http://www.pauter.com/subaru.htm)
Wiseco Forged .020 overbore 2.2t pistons (http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku)

This should yield an indestructable 2.4.

I've kinda always liked the idea of a 75mm crank in an sti block, but i don't even know if that would work. (seems like it would though in my brain) for about 2.35L

what kind of turbo and how much boost are you gonna be pumping ? The stroker kit and JDM 2.0 shortblock definately have stronger internals than the USDM 2.5 STI shortblock (if thats what you're referring to).

Well he currently is running a 20G so he could keep that or upgrade.
He mentioned around 24-26PSI of boost.
He is just not sure what would give him more bang for the buck? Undecided apparently between keeping his 2.0L and stroking it using a Brian Crower kit(2.29L).
OR
Just going with a 2.0L JDM shortblock or a 2.5L USDM shortblock.
Obviously as mentioned before with supporting mods(heads etc etc etc).
Would the stroker kit be a good choice in a 2.0 USDM block? Or would a JDM shortblock be a wiser choice? (Non stroked)
