Default Has everyone seen the new coolingmist kit yet?

I think they just made everyones lives a little easier...

Vari-Cool Trunk Mount Kit. The worlds easiest to install and most advanced progressive controller kit. The controller is attached to the tank, so is the pump. Just strap it down. Pump is assembled with fittings and checkvalve. Just run the hose to your engine bay, install your injector (taps from the outside), give the controller power and ground and a boost hose source. Other kits on the market make you mount the pump, tank, controller...this kit makes that a thing of the past.!!

What do you think?

What size is that tank? And is there a paticular place that it is supposed to be mounted. Or is it the end users option of where.

Wow, that is friggin cool. I just bought a new pump from them too, and didn't even see this. I really am thinking about a whole new set-up now. Looks way easier than when I first installed my kit last year. Takes a lot of the work and guess work out of it. Very nice.

the tank is 1.5 gallons

in the trunk is where its designed...up to you exactly where.

This is coolingmists solution, making it easier for some of us not as advanced installers to get a kit in their car without alot of work

I think its a great improvement...takes alot of the guess work out of the install!

you may also check it out on www.importimageonline.com (shameless plug)

I don't think this kit is new. I think spending more then $20 for a plastic tank is a waste of money, and the tank with this kit costs more then $150(that's about twice as much as the pump). I think the smc kit is easier to install. I think many kits out there are more "advanced" then this kit.

I dig it. I bought mine several months ago but still haven't installed it (racing takes up my time in the summer, and I've been working a lot of OT lately). I would much prefer this setup as it would make my life easier.

nice kit! Only drawback I see, and it's not a major one, is running the "boost source" hose from the engine bay all the way back to the trunk. Nee to be careful that the hose you use will not kink/bend easily or you will not see the boost level correctly at the controller! And you know what that could mean
I have the coolingmist stage II system in my WRX, with the controller mounted in the glove box. After getting tuned, I locked the dials down using the PC interface.

Ditto... I think this thread borderlines vendor advertising in the non-vendor forums.
“Hey have you seen the new product which you can buy exclusively from me as a retailer”

Every post in this forum from Importimage is geared towards how great the Coolingmist kit is because this vendor sells it. I’d like to hear your actual unbiased opinion on topics in this forum instead of shameless plugs like this...

Well that must be because of my negative dealings with un named other companies. Virtually 24-7 customer support and a very low failure rate (not even 1 kit has come back) shows how nice they are. If i dont present the new product who else will? no one else had. If you dont like it...feel free to hit the back button and continue browsing.

The kit looks really great for a Sedan. Everything is prewired is another plus. Their customer support is superior to anyone. If everyone had CS like Coolingmist we would all live better.

I'm all for ease of install due to extra effort on the manufacturer's part. There's no real reason to sell people jigsaw puzzles as the only option.

Well I carry a box of parts in the back of my wagon everywhere I go. I think I could find a place for this if I tried real hard. Does this system come with any fail safes or does one have to install their own ?

Not being an a$$ but have you ever dealt with Import Image ? Tell ya what. If this thing was not what it is reported to be by the manufactuer he would not have started the thread.

You mean the new product in this link that was introduced over five months ago by coolingmist?

Clog Nozzle Detector/Status Flow Detector. This is a device that will detect the water flow, it indicates if you have a clog and if the methanol/water is flowing. This is strongly recommended as you will always know if the system is operating correctly.
Above is what they claim comes with the kit. Below is my version of what comes with the kit.

This product is our new product. We did have a trunk mount kit previously, the differences in that kit vs this kit are as follows:

1) The main difference is the mold on the tank was changed to mount the controller. Previously, you needed to mount it in your dash or cabin somewhere.

2) the checkvalve and wiring are done for you now. The only thing you need to do is wire the power, ground and put the route the vacuum hose, etc. There is still some work with routing your power wires and hose to the trunk, but it makes work easier due to the fact you dont have mount the pump, tank, controller and most of the wiring is done already.

This particular kit has its own product code. The previous kit was the vari-cool stage II with 1.5 gallon tank upgrade. If you order that kit, you dont get the checkvalve Pre-installed, controller pre-wired, controller attached to the tank, etc.

The changes to the kit were enough to warrant it as a new kit.

Well since you asked, No I haven’t and I’m not bashing this vendor nor the product. Just making the observation that as a user of this forum, it seems to me a large portion of this vendor’s posts are geared towards generating business moreover community input. Last time I checked this was the community technical forum not the vendor sales forum.

Take Richard L for example, represents Aquamist as a manufacture and vendor, yet makes enormous contributions to this forum and community that are non product/vendor biased... Great vendor/user to set an example...!
