if I wanted overall everything of everything... a Legacy GT Wagon or a WRX wagon... If I had to choose a truck..an SS would be my choice.

No joke either... Best thing I could say is, if I had a family and everything, kids and all. A car like Ralphs is perfect to fullfill my speed need and family needs.

Yeah... I think I have the one for me or maybe do the same thing to a FXT like Mikeymike.

Do the wagons drive as good as the sedans?

Ralph can probably answer that sense he did drive my Wrx the other day. Though he does have a Legacy but shouldn't be to different handling wise from Lagacy to Impreza.

The have the same wheel base and the overall weight is very close so without having driven a sedan much I would say yes.

The wagon is very predictable, the longer wheel base makes for very controlled slides in the current conditions and as Jake told me during one of the autocross races "it rotates really well".

My wagon drives pretty well. Predicatable in all conditions. Very easy to swing the back end out. Tho the auto is rear biased.

If the Japanese domestic model is a guide for next year, more agressive lines on the front fenders, grill and head lights and paddle shifters on the GT... 2005 was the first and only year for the 5spd in the wagon.

i would have to agree with ralph on this one. i would probably do what mikey mike is doing to an FXT. I had a wrx, and it was a blast. But i have a family now, so in reality, a FXT is built on the same platform as a wrx and is just as fast. Its every aspect of fun and functionality. go FXT

I think the extra ground clearance on an Outback XT would be nice for some places up here, but otherwise I think the Legacy fullfills everything else for me. A Trailer hitch might be good too.

The Baja doesn't seem like a bad choice either, just isn't as sporty.

BAJA just rubs me the wrong way. my fridge can fit more than the bed of that thing. maybe someday i'll grow to like it.

Yeah it seems like most people agree with you, personally I don't think they're that bad. But I've never looked at them up close really, I guess I assumed the bed was sorta decent sized. Alot of the bigger things I'd like to move usually seem too tall for a regular car, but I suppose the wagon has alot more overall cargo room than a baja's bed does.

Does your XT have the same ride height as a base Forester?

no. I have the JDM forester STi pink springs installed. Its about 1-1.5 inches lower. But i have not compromised its SUV abilities. It still has 5-6 inches of ground clearance.

Also, im not sure if youre asking if "the" forester XT has the same ride height as a forester x or xs does from the factory. I do not know the answer to that right now. But i believe they are the same.

Yeah I was asking about stock, I thought the the XT was probably lowered more than the X. Similar to the Outback/Legacy difference.

Just checked, and there's only a tiny difference, from weight I suppose. About 8" on both, which would make your car quite useful in my opinion.
Having peformance capability, cargo room, and mild offroad ability plus the AWD = Great all around car.

Um, my GTI!

Although, since I do live in Alaska and winter sucks, my next car will be AWD. It will be a coupe or hatchback. so, that leaves me like, what, 2 options? :|

dan, the legacy/tribeca is getting some sort of larger engine in 08 also....

we've heard 3.5 to 3.7l...might be worth waiting for. also the jdm legacys just got adaptive cruise control and keyless start, just a start button. we will prob get this stuff soon.
