but the thing is..STI spoiler will leave like 10holes on the trunk
if u replace it with prodrive/oem wrx,etc spoiler
they only require 4 or 5 holes...

keep that in mind

Can I jack this thread to ask if anybody knows off the tops of their heads how much a new trunk costs? Painted or unpainted. It seems to me that if you don't want to swap the trunk with somebody who has the wing you want, the thing to do is get a new dang trunk. Keep the old one for when you want to sell the car or something.

I know along time ago when I had an SER with a huge Ricey wing on it someone tried to steel it. They did no damage to the trunk mind you but the wing was broken. For a few weeks I rode around with the holes in my trunk covered with color matched decal vinyl (just had some 1.5" circles cut for me) stuck over the holes. My wing was at my sisters house but they were out of town. Bottom line, it was the best $10 spent. I was able to drive the car wingless and water proof. Hell, I thought about doing that on the TR since I can not find a swap mate and don't want to buy a whole other trunk. If I am correct the WRX wings only have 4 holes but don't quote me, I have not pulled mine off yet or even looked inside.

a new trunk is about $350 if i remeber right, and it cost me $150 to paint it..

the STI spolier on 05 will leave you like 12 holes or so, however, i went throught MANY different style, STI wing, CF STI, wingless, WRX wing, APR GT wing, and now i'm totally happy with SYMS ...however, stock look is still the best i think..most of time that aftermarket makes me sick after awhile.
