Default what do you guys think about the subaru sub the sell?

Have an 06 and I don't want to spend too much money on upgrading the sound .... looks like subaru offers like a sub/amp combo or something along those lines for a few hundred that mounts under driver seat. Anyone have this or know anyone who has this? Would you suggest going another route? Let me know, I have the 6-disc stock head unit and like how it looks so if I could keep that it would be my first choice.

Look for a used one. They come up once in a while here and on ebay. I have one in my car and its not really that great once the car is running and you get engine noise and road noise. If you have upgraded your exhaust to anything louder than stock, then forget about it even being there while your driving. The best it does is vibrate your passengers rear while they are seated in your car.

This is your only route to getting more bass without doing a full amp/sub install, but if i had to say so, i would buy a decent mono amp and a good 10" or 12" sub and use a line level converter to get the rca signal, or uprgrade the deck and get something that has a subwoofer pre-out with internal sub controls.
