Default new plan for my car, tell me what you think

hi guys, imm sure most of you dont know who i am, but im thinkin about changing the style of my car. at first when i got my RS i loved rallying, but a started to mod my car with more of a traditional import style, because of the ease of getting parts. but now im thinking about going back to a more rally oriented style.

heres what my car looks like right now:

but what im thinking about doing is getting rid of the lip and hood (stripes are already off), and getting a home depot style lip. a little bit bigger tarmac style tires 235 and 245/45 or 15" gravel wheels with 225/60 dirt tires

what are some other rally style mods? heres a list off other things im considering:
-EL headers (WRC status)
-non-rice can muffler
-Spec C roof vent
-Mudflaps
-Skid plates
-Headlight film
-sti/WRC style wing

any other ideas?

BTW i plan on swapping the motor a few years down the road, just FYI

thanks for any ideas,
Greg

im confused.... are you trying to make your car "look" like a rally car or are you going to make it into one?

how much off-road time do you spend in the car?

suspension and brakes would be a good route if you do plan on spending a lot of time in the dirt

well, im not going to be competing in the WRC or anything.
i'll be auto Xing it as well as rally Xing it

i have coilovers, theyre fine for dirt and tarmac, spring rates are 392 front and 280 rear

stock calipers/rotors seem like they'd be fine for dirt. SS lines and cobb pads will be on mainly to suit the tarmac

While I rallied in Japan we used to run two strips of rubber, one behind the front and rear wheels that ran the entire width to keep the dust, rocks and mud down a bit.
I do not know if it is acceptable in the US in sanctioned events, but I wouldnt see why not.

i actually changed styles as well. i had a cusco lip, 18" volks, slammed and got annoyed driving around and avoiding everything pothole and angling up driveways to avoid scraping. now i sold everything and am working on a rally theme.

like you mentioned, get some mudflaps and raise her up and ditch the lip. if you don't have a budget get some 16" speedlines with a 225/50/16 meaty tire on it, but for a cheap wheel go with the black slipstreams. you will enjoy your car much more once you put it through some events and not worry so much.

yeah i did this from the begining, more rally gear less import tuner style stuff. Deffinitly look into some AUX lighting and possibly a light bar, there is a huge thread in the lighting section on aux lights. A nice wide set of mud flaps ofcorse, im sure if you really want to go for the look there are a lot of little things you could add, the antenna, decals if you want to go that way, Roof lights? some different mirrors, remove some weight/ gut the interior.

I dont have an interior shot but dont most WRC cars have a tall shifter and a modified E-brake handle? somone's got to have a picture somewhere. good luck keep us updated!

i have no need for an antenna, roof lights are kinda out i think.

i plan on getting a cobb double adjustable shifter and ditching the kartboy too short

wait till you have the swap before you get the hood. You can rally any car, just make it look like your car is rallyable, rather than a car that it's not that that does rally. STI wing is fine, just leave the scoop off. (for now)

i say ditch the lip...if you plan on doing on events than why even have to worry about a lip. unless of course its just for rally "looks"
