Default suspension/Wheel fitment questions...

Ive been looking at a set of 18x8 wheels for my 97 GT Wagon...

question is, what suspension combo would be the best to fit these wheels, and still be good for racing???

I want to lower the car a bit, and have them look "right" when its all done
(I assume I will be Rolling the F@#% out of the fenders to make them fit)

Would it be better to just get some 18x7.5? I only want the 8" because the Tarmac 3 only comes in Bronze in the 18x8...

Back to the question, what suspension have other people used to fit 18's nicely?

I auto-x and cruise backroads often, so it needs to be more than just for looks...

Anyone have Pics of wagons with 18's that look good? Ive searched through alot of the pic forums, not finding to many wagons with what Im looking for...

also, any Pics of a SILVER Legacy with BRONZE or GOLD wheels???

On my 7.5 wide wheels (+53) they were REALLY close to the lower spring pearch on my stock strut. I don't think you want to go much wider then that.

Best advice: Search

+53 is a very conservative offset. You could do +46-48 18x8 wheels and should have clearance, depending on tire width.

18" for autox? You may just want to just keep your stockers and mount some V700's or RS2's or something on them and use those for autox.

18" is more for show.

oh as far as suspension...first thing to get is usually the rear sway bar. After that, I would go to the AGX struts for strut dampening, and use Ground Control coilover sleeves so you can have adjustment for your ride height as well.

It's sort of an in between a lowering spring/strut setup and going full coilovers; you get the adjustability to change your ride height if you have rubbing problems and to run lower for autox along with changing your dampers , without the expense of a full coilover.

Im running AGXs on my BG. I like em! They are for a 2.5RS, used with H&R's in the front and WRX Wagon OEM in the rear.

What do I need to get to make the STI struts work? is it possible on the wagon?!?

Would It be better just to use aftermarket?
