Replace existing rear bumper with wider saloon (sedan?) item.
Take lots of pics and let us know where you post them, I'd love to see this conversion done as I have been contemplating it as a long term project.

1: read the link above your question.
2: yes, you can.

fwiw, I just did the front on my '02 bugeye. Stayed with an '02 look, so everything from the sedan just bolted right up. I'm using '04 STI front LCA's and sedan axles to get the front track and Perrin rear lateral links and my wagon axles to get the rear track. Rear fender will be rolled as much as I can, but I expect to be limited by the fender to ~225 width tires. I'll end up with an '04 STI front track, but maybe a 10-20 mm narrower rear track. Right now the car has the rear track done and the front is still stock so the car is pushing in corners, which I don't want.

I just finsihed my 2005 WRX wagon as well. WRX wagon bumpers are denoted by a W in the fog light housing area and a sedan has a S in the fog light housing area. Wagon fenders are 1 inch longer both side compared to a sedan's and wagon's bumper is also 1 inch longer than a sedan's. I used 2005 JDM STi fenders, sedan bumper, side skirt front spats, rear bumper spats from a 2002 WRX sedan and some aftermarket crystal side markers that were originally OEM sized. They were right sized but the mounting clips were longer and wider, so I had to use a razor to shave to fit bit by bit since they were just a bit off. Here are my pictures of the outcome. The crystal side markers matched the rear tail lights pattern. I do have a spare OEM clear sidemarker as a spare, if anyone is interested. I don't think they sell it individually, so, just putting it out there if anyone else actually found a single unit, I have the other.

Does anyone have a picture directly of the rear so I can see how much sedan fenders actually stick out? I've been thinking about this for a while and that is the only thing keeping me from doing the swap.

I wired up the sidemarkers so now they are fully functional. Here are some side angle shots and rear shots. Cell Phone is 2.0 MP quality. You can see the sidemarkers on the rear shots. Front fenders are wider about 1 inch on each side.

How do you propose to make it easier? Fenders (what this thread is about) are easy to replace.

1/4 panels are going to require welding no matter what. The car was built this way, it's not like after X amount of years that the welds become bolts.

Hey there everyone. I am fairly new here as a member (not as a forum viewer) and Id like to get some advice. I figured I'd post my question in here since the subject matter is very similar. Anyways, I was in a wreck the other day, damaging my front right fender and bumper on my 02 wrx wagon. I am going to be replacing my both parts, but in the process, I wanted to possibly get a "nicer" looking bumper for a cheaper price than oem. Problem is that there is nothing for wagons. So to my main question. Would it be possible to pull/bend wagon fenders out a little bit (where it meets the bumper) to fit a sedan bumper, or possibly modify the bumper to fit? I already know this would be simple if I converted to sedan fenders, but I don't like how it throws off the rear end, and I definitely don't have the money to convert the rear fenders. Thanks
