Question Optima Batteries in Calgary?

UPDATE:

IBS of Calgary
6112 30th St SE BAY #4
Calgary, AB T2C 2A6
Ph: 403-216-3390

They're ordering some on Monday and will have stock in 2 weeks.

Hi,

Anyone know where I can get an Optima battery in Calgary, apart from Costco?

I'm looking for the Red Top "35R", part number 8020-164

Thanks,

-J

I haven't had much luck with generic aftermarket batteries and I don't want to find out my poor luck has held after a day of skiing.

I've had a wal-mart energizer in my work truck, and its seen some pretty nasty weather up north, -30s, not plugged in, starts right up.. even all this week, no problems at all. and under $100 bucks

I couldn't find the 35R anywhere. Picked up the standard 35 Optima at Wallmart. Its alot cheaper at costco (50$ cheaper) but they only carry them for part of the year...

Did you have to extend your starter cable?

The 8020-164 is the only one that will fit with out extending the starter cable. It fit perfect in MY02 WRX and will be going in the 06 STi.

Costco has generic only.

We get ours from Mike @ NoLimits Autoparts here in Ottawa. 613-748-PART

Optima told me to get in touch with Penn East, but they're not carrying them anymore.

I'm going to try Federal Battery in Vancouver, but if that doesn't work I'll give NoLimits a try.

No, I didn't.
But I probably will extend it because its drawn a little tighter than I'd like. The cables arn't very expensive and the stock cable is skinnier than I'd like anyway.
