Question Good restaurants

All right, what are some good restaurants arond town with friendly parking preferrably. Something a bit above the "Cactus Club" environment. Anything like asian, western, west coast...

Thanks.

You know my suggestions already.

Joe Fortes, Chilli Club.

Hmm...how about...

Yaya's Oyster bar in Horseshoe Bay. Quiet, you get a drive, and it's not too expensive. On top of all that you get the scenery.

Let's have a mini dinner meet at Yaya's one time during the spring. Umm...have a craving for some oysters.

Another nice place would be...hmm...you could always try TMR's joint in Granville Island.

The Cannery is quite nice. Try their Salmon Wellington. It's superb. I think they're by commissioner road. Look for them on MyBC.com.

BTW, is this your "project"?

Default Yummy!

Cannery is good. You wouldn't think that there'd be any good restaurants in that area, but there it is!

There's also Hart House in Burnaby - next to the Heritage Village.

The Boat House is suppose to be pretty good too, but I haven't been there myself.

LaterZ!

Can't beat Bin 941/942 for tapas. I've heard great things about Tangerine as well.

For the best Indian in Vancouver, I recommend Vij's - although a reservation is highly recommended. Not too snobby either.

UH, can't think right now, too early.

CHeers,

Salmon House on the Hill is a great West Coast/Seafood restaurant. Great parking, good area, beautiful view and great seafood. For Asian I like the Tropika restaurants (Malaysian/Thai). Uforia across from the Sutton Place is good, I haven't been for a long time but it used to be, the atmosphere is pretty nifty too. For something a little different try Monsoons.

I'll second the monsoon cafe or what ever it is called.

If you are looking for fresh seafood go to the blue water cafe in yaletown and check out their fresh bar. They have an awesome vodka bar too.

I also want to put in a vote for wild rice, just across from tinsletown. Its a chi-chi chinese martini bar. Apparently very good, but kinda expensive.

In the indian department there is Major Chutney's... awesome food. My fav. and there is a little treat about this restaurant but you have to PM me to find out.

happy eating

Damn, PhoBotch, Hart House looked intimidating when I checked it out... I thought I would have to pull out the dusty suit... but it looks real smooth inside... good for making big impressions.

Thanks everybody.

Yeah, Hart House is very beautiful inside and outside. In the spring/summer, they open up the patio in the back. It has a very beautiful garden out there too.

It's a very bright restaurant - lotz of natural lighting. I found the Cannery to be very "dark," but I guess that was the embiance (sp?) that they were going for.

If you want the best view (except when there's a low ceiling of clouds which is most of the time), and you don't mind forking out the big bucks, head over to the Rotating Restaurant in downtown. The elevator ride is a hoot, and the Agnolotti pasta is EXCELLENT.

Mmmmm.... oysters.

We should get together for some... I don't mind shucking... Actually, I'm pretty good at it now. They're only $0.60/ea. (BC oysters) at the Lobster Man in Granville Isl. My favourite are the Royal Miyagi's and the Pacific Gems.

Anyhow, my restaurant suggestion would be Tangerine's on Yew (Kit's). It's below Da Pasta Bar. An intimate eclectic west coast restaurant.

TMR, we all know that your thought prossess is extremely unique and no one questions that. I think Skull humper was just agreeing that it is a good place. We all know it was your thought first and are in awe at your brilliance.
