Default My car got broken into

Yes, my car was the target of some vadalism and theft.

All in all there was close to $1500 worth in damage/stolen goods.

They took my ipod, gym bags (yes multiple), a grip of Nike clothes and Under Armour clothers, trashed the inside of my car, took the faceplate of the head unit (there are broken little pieces of it all over the car, so the idiot/s broke that too, demolished the stereo and surrounding trim trying to get it out, and broke 3 windows.

Circumstances suggest that it was a psycho ex.... I'll post some pics when i get my internet up and running

Horrible. I had mine broken into and they attempted to steal it, but I had yanked the ECU fuse in response to a hike in Subarus getting nicked at the time.

Only damage done was the ignition and trim around the headunit. Stolen was the headunit itself and some spare change.

That sucks Mike...stop leaving your bedroom inside your car!

3 Broken windows suggests "revenge" though.

How's your project been coming along otherwise?

Why don't people have better things to do??? SERIOUSLY!!!!! I hate all people that steal shizzz. My friends mid '90's jeep was stolen the other week. I actually found it at a Kmart but then the thief came out and jumped in it and took off. Sadly to say I lost him because he was running red lights and **** and I am not going to endange my car for his Jeep.

That sucks man. Next time don't date someone that's fricking crazy

sorry for the lost. i heard at the news that thieves these days are targeting electronic stuff thats on the car. especially this holiday coming, this would suck because even store bags that was purchase, they wanted you to put them in the trunk so that it would be less visible for the thieves.

fcuk thieves.

^^ Good advise.

Its that time of year, so pay more attention to where you park and what valuables are in the car.

I've got my cargo cover, thankfully.

And I have an eclipse HU which has a pretty good security system, plus I live in a very low crime city.

Are you getting anything done about this? My vote goes for psycho ex as well.

Growing up in NYC, I think it's good practice to do that all the time anyway. Also, try not to leave too much of anything readily visible in the passenger compartment (radar detectors, cell phones, ipods, etc., if you have a detacheable faceplate, take it off and hide it in the glovebox or something), especially if your windows aren't heavily tinted.

Sad to say it, but you want the thief to move to an easier/more valuable target (i.e. someone else's car).

It may sound silly, but having my stock deck makes me feel so much better about parking my car in a seedy place, even with my P1s on the car.

Clean interior leaves little for people to get excited about too.

Good luck figuring out what crazy person(s) did such a thing.

Dooode totally sucks. Sorry to hear that

It could be worse though, at least they didn't steal it then vandalize it, like they did mine.

The really depressing things is that I was so sure that I had most of those covered.

I live in low crime, my windows are excessively tinted, and my car (other than the things that were taken) is clean and empty.

I guess it's just a learning exp. I've been doing everything I can to find a lead on who it could've been but nothing yet

Not need to comment. Subedave's post expresses my feelings just fine.
