well if ur 16 i wouldnt suggest getting a sti or a wrx for that matter. i would get a 2.5rs for now and save u some money on gas and insurance. the added plus of not killing ur self will also outweigh the extra ponies that come with the wrx and above. the only reason i suggest this if ur 16 is because u dont know or respect that kindof power. regardless of who u are. im 19 and ive been driving a 130 hp ford escort zx2 which isnt a bad ride, gotten me through the past 5 years great. but i drove a new corvette and to tell u the truth it scared the crap out of me when i tried to drive it like the the zx2. respect for power will go along ways when u develop it. but for now stick to something thats not turboed or supercharged for that matter. but good luck with whatever u get. my insight is merely opinion.

This is the n00b forum, so I don't know why the rest of you n00bs are bothering one of your own kind. We have to stop n00b on n00b violence in NASIOC. I'm just impressed that he put it in the right forum. As to the original poster, your best bet is to just keep reading threads in the technical forums here, and in other car forums as well. Pretty much every car has a forum today, so go to those forums and do some searches on different topics. Also, check out Unibomber's FAQs on this site. They have some really good information, and more importantly, they have links to threads that have some really good discussions on different topics. That is the best way to really start learning.

Agreed but most of that information isn't worth spit if you don't know the basics. I highly suggest howstuffworks.com...they have neat pictures that move and stuff

I definitely wasn't saying your idea was wrong. I just find the n00b hazing in the n00b forum to be a bit ridiculous. I actually like howstuffworks.com. They have great diagrams that show how different engines work. I personally like this one. How engines work

Yea. Thanks for unabomber's thread. It really helps me understand of what I'm learning and stuff. And yes, as for me on driving, Im not gonna get a really fast car that I can't handle because as you may know, about 60% of Teenage driving get into the most car accidents. Anyways, thanks for the help. ^_^

( p.s. So what if im new at somthing. I'm just intrested in cars and getting into them thats all. Therefore, the people who are being helpful, thanks.)

Getting into them is easy. For a front seat, open the front door via handle, and sit down in the seat. close the door, and put the seat belt on.
Rear seat: Same as above, except use the rear door. If this is a coupe, use the only door on your side, move the front seat up, climb in back, put on seatbelt.

Anything else?

I might add that if you reverse the directions written above, it will get you out of the car.

I wouldn't even suggest an RS for a first car. If you have little at all to no experience (as in just barely got liscense,) get something along the lines of an L to start with (if you want a Subaru.) You won't regret starting so low, because you will learn a lot from that car. Trust me, my 110HP car has taught me a lot, even with a large amount of power on tap.
