hello alll... i've been doing some thinking about upgrading my clutch/flywheel on my 06 wrx but don't really know if there really is a need to yet. i'm only at 296whp and 300wtq so when should i ditch the stocker and get an upgraded clutch and flywheel? and also which one to get ?????

i have had more then good luck with exedy, including personal tech help from their engineers when i encountered a problem once. they are a great company. no wonder subaru uses them for the stock clutch...

so exedy stage one is my reccomendation.

i have installed exedy, fidanza, act, sach's, spec, and probably others, if you're wondering what i'm comparing to.

Yeah who is this guy from fairbanks that has a stage four 2006? Do you work at TDS? I'd like to meet you some time and see your car. You should register at fairbanksforum.com, and check out the install day we are doing for ryan on his wagon.

before you ship your car up here make sure you get a low octane tune/map, and or torco map while you're near the dyno.

i had a exedy stage one on my old wrx. it was nice but........it was almost liek it seemed almost to tough for the stock wrx tranny. personally.............i would leave the flywheel alone. once you change a flywheel to a lighter one you lose all bottom end torque. in these cars it is pretty important to have torque. about all a light wieght flywheel is good for is roll on power. but yeah, an exedy stage 1 is the way to go to start off with. just gotta be careful.
