Rally America Scoring ??

Looking at the Rally America site I was a little confused when I looked at the 'Results' page and the 'Stage' pages. On the 'Stage' pages some of the class codes were underlined and others were not, when I looked at the 'Results' page, only those who had underlined codes showed up there. At first I thought that those were people who were running on RA licenses, but Paul Eklund was one of those who's class code was not underlined, I'm pretty sure Paul is running on a RA license, or maybe not?

I believe those people with underlines were those people entered in the Wild West Rally as a Rally America National Event. The WWR is made up of two regional rallies, the Sou'wester and the Simpson Stages. I don't recall which day was which regional. Competitors could enter one regional, both regionals, the national event, or the regionals + national. Depending on which rally is entered, determines which championships any points count towards. If you look at the entry list on Rally America's site, it will tell you who entered what rally(s).

Well then how do we get the true results of the rally, not just the Rally America point of view.

Just looked at RA site both Jamie Thomas and Matt Milner were signed up for both regionals, yet only Jamie had the underlined class code. Paul Eklund also was signed for both regionals, but Block and Pastrana both sign up for the Wild West Rally. Ken and Travis had underlines, Paul did not. Unless Jamie signed up for the Wild West Rally on Saturday, this doesn't make sense.

Corky, Jamie ran national only for a number of reasons. The underline reflects that.

So you are saying that the underline means that those drivers are running for national points? Can't imagine why Paul wouldn't have ran for national points.

So will we ever get results based upon who ran the event regardless of whether or not they were running fro national points?

Paul isn't running nationals because it doesn't mean anything to him. He can't afford to run the season and compete for year end points. He's played that game. Its spendy. And running regional only allows the team to run all the same stages at a lower price. Of course, he doesn't get the publicity of showing in the National event results, either.

And the reason to enter the national event (in PGT) is that you get start money from Subaru. No start money in Open Class, so it was cheaper for Paul to enter the regionals.

It was a weird event, but I commend the organizers for making lemonade out of lemons. It could have been a lot worse.

I'm not even sure why you're concerned with this....???

But I ran the national to assist Kim DeMotte in obtaining needed co-driver national points.... as well as earn the Subaru PGT contingency money.

That would be why I'd entered as National
and some of the other regional regulars were not.

Jamie, my concer is that the only results that I can I can see is the one Rally America posted, and it only shows the result of those who had an underlined group code. I would like to see the results for all of those who ran since many of my friends were running the event and I'd like to see how they place. This has nothing to do with you, I'm sorry that I used your name as an example.

Well that's as close as I'm going to get, had to add the Saturday event and the Sunday event together to get the comparison I was looking for, but all the data is there.

Brent, a 27:36.7 was pretty good, looks like you had a great time.
