Default Anyone know anything about this turbo?

I'm trying to look into alternatives to the GT30r for my winter build. Anyone know anything about this turbo? http:

http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=5910&

It says 650cfm which might be a bit small for my goals.

I'm trying to find a turbo to make 400+ on pump and closer to 475 on race gas on my built EJ205.

Ditto....Try Deadbolt turbo's, much better service IMO.

They sell and service them and are very knowledgeable on Subaru applications. Call them or check out their website.
I bought my turbo from SBR..... What do they say? If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all.... : - (

The problem I'm coming across is 90% of the "big turbo" information is strictly for 2.5's. It's hard to find spool up numbers or anything like that for a 2.0 with anything over 50lb min.

Cause if your going to build your engine it's going to change your spool characteristics. For example a higher compression ratio, or a bigger displacement. Things like that will change it. What I would do is go off the 2.5 and just guess around a few hundred rpms difference.

just for grins, punch in the "business" address of Deadbolt in to google earth and zoom in.

I will also challenge your paradigm that he is knowledgeable on Subaru applications.

there are several 'manufactuers' out there that sell the EXACT same products, but for different prices, with different names.

a deadbolt SZ49 and a FPgreen have the same center housing, same compressor wheels, same hotside wheel and same housings!

a FP red and a SZ60 share a similar story.

the difference is in price and who you feel comfortable with.
Jerry@ deaadbolt builds turbos in his garage.
Rob @ Forced Performance has a degree in mechanical engineering and has worked on gas turbines and turbo chargers all his professional life. FP also has a dedicated factory.

i have no doubt that Deadbolt turns out a fine product at a fair price, but my money is going to be spent somewhere else.

it's a GT3071R stuffed in to a 20G compressor housing and mitsu 8 cm hotside.

call them up and ask them to pull one off the shelf and read you the garrett tag off the center housing.

go to www.turbobygarrett.com and look up the numbers.

also the 52 lb wheel is two generations old, as far as the technology goes.

If you're considering going rotated you might want to check out some of (precision) PTE's turbos. You get a lot for your money
