Default so I think my utec is fried

I recently bought a UTEC from a nasioc member and my friend who was doing my install and tune today noticed a few problems. The ground wire off of the utec is completely fried through. The warranty sticker has been broken meaning the cover has been taken off. And on bottom of the utec on the circuit board there is a spot where it has been damaged. I have emailed the member asking him for a refund because I do not want to put this on my car and risk killing my stock ecu. Anyone know why the ground wire would be completely fried? Any other comments?

I think you can pretty safely say that your utec is fried. It sounds like possibly the circuit board shorted out. Must've been something fierce if it actually fried the ground wire. Maybe the ground wire was actually hooked up to +12v?

Definitely don't connect it to your ecu. Good luck with your refund.
