Default Geminid Meteor Shower TONIGHT!!

starts at 9pm. crystal clear skies and the moon should be outta the way at 2am. there should be 60-120 meteors an hour. happy viewing

just got back from Mt. Binnell in austin, saw quite a few damn good meteors, that was a pretty good spot seeing as its not that far from downtown.

27 meteors in 20 mins... not bad from the driveway. supposed to be prime in about an hour.

Oh and lovethebugeye, park curfew is at 10pm

screw curfew :P

i laugh at the curfew they tried to impose on katy people below 18 yrs old... it doesn't work worth S****

at least it'll be clear for the sky. hm maybe i should get out my camera..

hope it is better than the last 'predicted shower'
(on a sunday nite thanksgiving week)
i was in west texas, no lite pollution what so ever and clear skies
did not see a friggin thing from 11pm to 3am

i know a bunch of people that have been busted for park curfew, of course they were also underage and drinking so that probably had something to do with it. Missouri City (i hate that place) also has an 18 and under midnight curfew, but they were hard asses about it.

Thanks for the heads up. I only really spent about 10-15 minutes looking and saw 5 very nice ones. I am in downtown Dallas and was able to see them really well so I was impressed. Must have looked amazing from rural areas.

It's austin city ordinance, So it doesnt matter how old you are. All parks are off limits from 10p-5a. Welcome to Austin.
