No more suction cups on my Radar Detector. My solution. Pics!

Every since I got the car I’ve been fighting with the stupid suction cups on my Bell. I keep it mounted near the rear-view mirror. I want it up there because its harder for someone to see who is standing out side the car, and being up higher it should catch the signals better. I don’t like the visor mounted brackets, the one I’ve seen my buddies car is just a pain in the ass if you actually use the visors. I don’t know about other years but MY06 has a strip of textured “tint” at the top of the windshield between the visors. That texture mixed with either cold glass or hot glass makes the suctions cups work intermittently at best, I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten more pissed off, more often at something so small before.

Anyhow my Dad and I came up with this last night. The part is made out of smoked acrylic. The headliner holds it snuggly in place, it works great. The small silver piggy I had extra from a while ago.
