Default There's riding to be had all around

You just have to know where to look. There's a "race" this Saturday from Goose Lake to the coastal trail towards Kincaid Park. I believe it's a 26 miler out and back. 6:30 pm we all meet at Goose Lake. Check out some info here: http://forums.mtbr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=90. The race is called the "Snaux Bro" Bring the bike and check it out!
A lot of trails are prime for the riding right now out on the Hillside, as wellas in the Valley - just be sure to keep clear of the groomed trails marked for the x-country skiers. They take care of the trails and get right pissed if our bikes chew them all up. Invest in a good set of studded tires if you haven't already (and just like the car tires, Nokian makes the best bike studs out there) and you'll be set to take on most of the stuff out there. If you still have some money to blow, check out Wildfire bikes and get yourself a 4 inch-wide tire snow bike. That'll take you all the way to Nome and back.
The Bicycle Shop on N. Lights Blvd usally has a Sat. night ride all year regardless of weather or temperature. Bring your own beer for that one.
