Legacy FS CT: '95 Legacy L Wagon, great winter car

Hey NESIC,

I bought this car intending to drive it over the winter, but came across a better deal on an older Legacy, so this one has got to go.

SOLD!

It's a 95, 5spd, AWD, 178k. Glacier white. Car is located in Storrs, CT, 06269

I've cleaned the car up since taking these pics, they're somewhat out of date, but I can grab new ones on request. Nasty autozone knob has been replaced.

The good:

-Car drives well, recent alignment, runs smooth, shifts flawlessly, good idle, no hesitation or other driveability issues.
-Body is in good shape, never hit, only real issue is a few rusty spots.
-Lot's of recent service: Struts and tires are only about 5k old, timing belt and wheelbearings done recently according to previous owner. I just put brand new rear rotors and pads on this afternoon.
-Well-optioned: Comes with criuse, power windows/locks, AC, alloy rims, and a number of features Imprezas of the same vintage don't have: rear discs, rear sway, 2.2 motor with 5spd.

The bad:

-Small rust spots in the typical Suby areas, most of which I have touched up.
-Exhuast does not leak, but it is patched together and will likely require attention in the near future.
-Still on the original clutch - drives ok but the clutch engages at the very top of its travel and will need to be replaced.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. Book value on this car is around $2k-2400 - because of the clutch (and the fact I'd like to sell soon), I'm asking: $1250

PM or reply within.

Thanks!
--James

Awesome car !!!

Are those 14" or 15" alloy wheels ?

My understanding is that this car does indeed have a full OBD II setup ?

I assume it has an ABS setup as well ?

Thanks! They are 14" alloys, and yes, the has both ABS and OBD-II.

It's a L trim model. The gate handle is a little sticky, but its easy to just push back down after opening.

It's hard to say (obviously). I've out about 500 miles on the car, and the clutch doesn't slip during normal driving, so I'd guess you could probably squeak through the winter with it.

Can't say I've attempted to find out. It's probably somewhere in the 110-120 though.

we had a similar vintage legacy wagon (4EAT) up to about 112 going downhill in arizona.. factor in the heat and the amount of weight we had in the car.. i think it'd be possible to get it going a LEEEEEETLE faster but that was really about it.

i have a friend looking for a car like this.. i'm gonna send her a link to the thread..

Most independent garages would charge ~$350. A new clutch costs $150.
