Iam using an 01 legacy trans and i need a new clutch, pp, tob, ect.
Who has had experience with the different high performance clutches? I'm running 225-260hp (depending on the bolt ons) and i need something i can run at the races on friday night and drive to work the next day, also ive got to move back to alaska next summer. Would a stock clutch hold up or should i go aftermarket? Note; iam a horrable driver, thats why i work on cars and not race them professioanlly, so my clutch skills are that of a 2nd level magic user in a fist fight with a Mountain Giant. (hahaha, dnd reference). Anyway, i could go 9.6 to 12lbs on a flywheel so i'll always be on boost. any help or input would be appriciated.

Exedy stage 1 clutch and ACT 14lb flywheel run $550ish from import image (see vendor forum). Unless you want an über beefy and stiff clutch stage 1 should hold your power just fine. Organic clutches like the stage 1 are also easy to drive, like the stock one. Keep in mind that a 9lb flywheel will not make the stock ECU happy unless you are tuned.

No need to step away from an organic disc which will give you best drivability. Either Exedy street or stage-1 clutch would be my vote… |
