Default Hydra + engine install= no spark??

Afetr getting my project wrapped up i have been faceing issues starting the engine. First i thought it was a fuel pump problem but that was fine second i took one of the coil packs out attached the spark plug, cranked the engine and no spark?? Any ideas to what the problem could be? any other tests i could perform? i have checked the engine harness and it all looks good also i checked the ecu connections and the looks good.

Thanks Stu

Give us some details on the car, the engine, what map you are using etc. Hydras will not deliver spark unless the cam and the crank sensors sync up. Are you running an Element Hydra? If so you can email me the crank trigger test and I can look it over for you along with checking to make sure you have the best base map for your setup.

Thanks,
Phil

Phil this is Stuart in socal it was your hydra i bought with the red map. I found that the problem was the sensor in the front middle of the Engine. After that was connected right she fired up first time However the car is preety smokey. I guess this maybe because the engine got flooded with too many cranks about 15 or the crank enrichment is too high?

No, I haven't got it running yet. Based on crank trigger tests I have either the cam sensors or the AVCS sensors hooked up wrong, so the Hydra isn't firing the coils. A funny side note I changed the wiring on the cam sensors last night and now when it cranks, the tach bounces around. Do you have the 2.1 or 2.5?

That would be the crank sensor which is required to start the car

It's possible you filled the motor up with fuel during that experiment and it should clear itself out. I would recommend changing your oil if you feel a lot of fuel ran into the crankcase.

That map should be right in the ball park so I wouldn't look there for the problem unless you altered something. After speaking with you on the phone verify you have the correct spark plugs installed in your Hybrid.

Thanks,
Phil

My bad was the bad vacum connection at the BOV so i put it at the Fuel pressure reg nipple on the manifold

Cheers Phil motor is running strong i didn't push too hard but man 8cm red, nice low end torque, no lag, feels overall very strong. AFR are spot on too
