you can get a new factory battery under warranty... its covered.

They replaced mine on my 2002 wrx after 2.9 years with no questions asked. IT wasn't even dead yet, just a little low on juice.

Optima Red Top from Costco. Not sure if they sell an appropriate OEM replacement. I believe the terminals are reversed for the appropriate size. Might consider taking this opportunity to do a battery relocation to the trunk : )

The optima red top is nice (you need a size 35 - if you have a batteriesplus around you, they are only $125.99 at the moment) - there's a universal one, too, but the terminals are reversed so you need a longer positive cable to make it work. Just save yourself the trouble and get the size 35 - works like a charm (just installed one myself, yesterday)

From past experience... I would have to say your situation is almost more rare then his batt going on a 2005. I have not had good luck with batteries in arizona.. it is a very tough place here in the summer. I would personally have the factory replace it.. It may or may not be the best battery; however, I personally would not shell out bux on something like that unless I had too. good luck either way though.

2 year old battery in az is not that rare. hell my battery on my 05 was dead 2 months after i bought it last year. just depends on how long they sit. so rare i would def. have to say no, because it happend to me. and the whole thing about subaru warrantying it is true and false. They will warranty it if the if its defective. now if you left your lights on and it can be recharged they wont. but if its below a certain level then they will. ohh well good luck too u.

Get the 35-R one it's got the terminals switched so it fits in perfectly. I got a yellow top and it's been going strong for 2 years.
