Legacy 03-04 Outback SUS

I found an Outback Sedan with the 3.0H6 and was curious if anyone has any experience with this car or any info that they could give me to watch for on it. I have heard there are problems with the H6 from these years (EG30?). Its an 03 with 26k on the clock, all leather, exterior is black and gold. I will be stopping to ask the price later. Just looking for feedback on the car. It would make a great winter rat so I can pursue modding the GT more.

thanks,
-BB98

I never heard of h6 engine issues. Jst that the thing is squeezed into the engine bay pretty tight, making maint. pretty rough...

Not a lot of H6 experience here, to be honest. Too bad they're all automatic, but did they have VDC in the SUS? I see one or two of these on occasion and have dirty thoughts...

Why would you mod your AT LGTand buy H6 outback with 26k on the clock? If you have money to spare for a car that costs more than the current LGT why not spend it wiser? I mean its ur money so i won't say much but I just want to give you my feedback on this topic. If you really want to keep your LGT for the looks and whatever you like about it...I would keep all the current mods then sell your current LGT with OEM parts, find yourself a MT LGT unless you don't know how to drive stick...you should get it or learn it eventually cuz its definitely more fun and you have alot more control over your car IMO. Or...the money you sell your LGT + the money you can afford to buy a H6 outback + fees you can spare to mod your LGT meanwhile...you can probably afford a pretty nice used car or even a brand new car depending on whats out there that you like.

What does a MT swap into an H6 go for? Maybe that's a tough question being so uncommon...

I can't imagine it being any different than any other AT--->MT swap.

whats the price now? and how much can you afford? i mean...if anything i would suggest getting a hooptie or a beater...while you work on ur car (swap or do a crazy mod since buying another legacy outback with H6 motor will cost as much as getting a ver 7 sti motor+)...or work on ur car after the winter season?!? just my opinion.

I'm doubting Badbasser has any time for swapping anything, being a network admin and all.

He doesn't exactly roll in the money. Network admin =/= 90k a year.

Rome wasn't built in a day... Although you raise many good points of interest.

I really can't do much more with my car without owning another. As you have pointed out, I am busy being a Network Admin for four stores that are each about 1 hour away from the main location. I cannot afford to be without a car, which equals zero down time for the BE unless I have something else to drive. Sure I can get a cheap, POS beater, but I don't like the idea of driving a car that constantly needs maintenance or fear of something going and leaving me stranded in the sticks...

If I was making the money you seem to think I am making, I would have bought a Spec.B and been done with it

Come on, wait for the Spec B.

Well, H6 is nice, I had SVX H6 with 160,000 miles, still running strong until tranny failed.

Well, they didn't move hardly at all on the price... I will try again, and if they don't go lower, no sale
