Angry Random tech Cats SUCK!!!

i got my 300 dollar high flow cat in today and i put my car on the lift took off the old cat, and when time to put the new cat on i came to realization THAT IT DOESNT FIT! how can a company claim that something is a direct bolt on replacment for the stock cat if the damn thing wont even let you mount the front 02 sensor becuase the bung is up agianst the header. this product is crap.

Interesting. The cat was made specifically for the 2.5RS? I've never had any problem with them on Vette's

Do you have aftermarket headers?

Just curious.

My friend installed the Cat on his 00 RS. He currently has a 2.25" Stromung dual tip cat-back and a K&N cone filter right on the throttle body. He also has a 15lb flywheel and ACT Clutch. From a standing start he can beat his brother Integra GSR up to 75 mph by a small margin. The GSR has an Apex N1 and R-Active intake.

Before the cat he could merely keep up with the GSR. He has some other pretty effective performance mods planned for the RS.

Let me assure you the Random Tech Cat is not only a sound modification. This cat will make you faster if you have at least an intake and cat-back and absolutely essential if you have headers and/or forced induction.

STiTkacik

jeffg
i have the stock headers, if i had aftermarket headers they might actually fit, but if you lok at randoms website you an see they are on a car with stock headers and they offer it as a direct bolt on

Default No problems with mine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

yes the front O2 sensor is a tite fit with the stock headers,,BUT,,its not the header thats the problem, it's the heat shield, one small tap with a hammer to make a small indent in the heat shield clears it all up, and it fits like a glove.
The performance i got from the cat is definately worth the $300,so i wouldnt be bashen Random Tech all over the board about how lousy there products are when you evidently are not real handy at DIY.
"Random Tech Sucks" sounds rather childish,,kinda like yelling "man overboard!" when someone drops a beer in the drink and you hear a splash.
Definately have your speed shop install the next one.

actually for you information i am quite handy at DIY ive installed turbo kits and ive have rebuilt 2 cars from the frame up. please dont even talk to me about moding my own car. i say these cats suck beacause they are advertized as a "direct bolt on" which it is not, if the person who made the piece os **** moved the O2 bung an inch everything would fit fine. smartass

Nate

"The missing link for maximum power is here--Finish off your 2.5RS exhaust system with a Super High Flow catalytic converter from Random Technology. Part number 822204 is a direct fit high flow converter that features all-stainless steel construction and 2-1/4" diameter inlet and outlet. Fittings for both oxygen sensors and front and rear flanges make this a true bolt-in replacement for the stock two converter assembly."
