Creaking at slow speed, squeaking at higher speeds

My '96 GT has been making an odd sound ever since I had the rotors turned. Under slow speeds, it's a creaking sound. Up above 30 or so, it becomes a squeaking. The duration of the squeak or creak directly depends on how fast I'm going, and is very consistent. It will only squeak under a certain braking force, but at slow speeds it pretty much always creaks.

Is it my rotors? My pads? Something else?

Also, today it got a bit more strange. It felt like the brakes were sticking. A couple of times after braking for a corner, it got very sluggish. At one moment, the engine even started to sound like the motor in an '89 Cavalier or something...

What in the world is going on?

Is this only when you're braking?

Pads/backing plate etc are my guess.

Above parking lot speed, yes. Crawling around under 10 mph it does it pretty much all the time, though it doesn't seem to do it when it's cold.

As for the hesitation, that just started tonight. I'm not sure if that's because I drove 70 miles today, or if maybe it's getting worse.

That's my initial guess too. On the front, one side has them and the other doesn't (plates/shims that is). I've got to see if anyone around here actually has the plates, though.

Yeah, sounds like your pads are rubbing.

That seems to have been it. I replaced the pads yesterday and took it for a drive today. Didn't hear a thing.
