Default Kartboy lever install issue

So i got a Kartboy lever from a friend who had it installed in his 04 wagon. I checked the Kartboy site, which says they are the same for 02-06. The problem is that the lever won't fit into the shift fork, its too wide, by almost 1/8". If i take the bushings out, it fits right in, but obviously that won't work. Am i missing something here?

Do you have the factory short shift kit? If so, they're different levers.
