Default Hoses

So I'm thinking about replacing the stock black hoses w/ braided stainless steel covered hoses on my 00 RS... the problem is, none of the hoses are marked for size, it seems. In particular, i'd like to replace my heater hoses, as I need to do that anyway.
Does anyone know what size these hoses are?
I have to order then and it would be a pain to drain the system, pull it apart, measure it and order the parts, put it back together, refill, and then redo the whole thing once the parts come in...

Mesure the circumpfrence (spelling) and do the math to get diameter.....IIRC it's circum... divided by 3.14.....it been awhile though..then approximate for wall thickness to get I.D.

take an hose off and cut it in half. Measure the end you cut then you have the hose size!

the problem is I don't know the approximate wall thickness... I did find on the NAPA page they say to get the .60" ID Heater Hose, cut to fit... unfortunatly, no one really seems to make .60" Hose... 5/8" is the closest I can find which is .625"... not much difference, but I don't like dumping coolant...

no help here, but if yer car is only what, 2-3 years old...why do feel you need to rplace those hoses? they last quite a while. and if they went bad that fast, arn't you under warrenty anyways? just curious...not trying to be a prick or anything.

I've been wanting to replace my hoses as well. Some of them are rotting and cracking after 2 years. I'm hoping I don't blow a hose while driving. The fuel lines are in especially bad shape back near the tank.

I'm scared about the wiring looms too, those little wires are getting mighty dry and cracked.

Not everybody drives on clean pavement and has a garage to park in at night.

Can't you buy universal braided hose to cover the stock hose. One size fits all, like Chinese finger cuffs.

if you wan tto replace the hoses repalce them all with the silicone...it's expensive but the stuff lasts FOREVER!!

Jeremy

Braided steel hose covers hold in heat and don't make the hose any stronger.

I'm replacing the hoses because i installed a coolant temp sensor in the heater core line, and now I need to get it out... which means I'll have a huge hole in the hose...
Jeremy, your point about silcone is good, I hadn't thought about that... but I still can't find the proper size hose...

NAPA has silicone hose in just about any size you need and the feed line for most heater cores is 5/8"

But definitely measure it.
