Default What should I pay for an ecu flash?

Good Day
I've got APS 3.0" exhaust, supporting fuel mods, and all the stuff i need to run the factory turbo at 18 psi. I ordered an access port but it didn't come in before I had to drive to AZ from Saskatchewan. Anyway, I need to get a stage 2 map into my ecu. I want to get a basic tune and I want to head home
with a copy of my factory map and the tuned map. What's that worth? Right now I'm about 4 blocks away from Dyno-Comp.

Nothing,

I'd flash it myself, then take it to get tuned.

you guys realize not everyone wants to tune thier own car? do you also realize, some tuners will not use openecu programs to tune cars with...

to answer your question, dyno time will run anywhere from 200-500$ depending on your tuner, your base map, and your mods. I think 125$/hour is about the going rate for a custom dyno tune.

Why does everyone assume that ecuflash means tuning your own car.

Flashing to an OTS map ISN'T tuning your car, its no different than using an AP to flash.

But you are right, he should be checking with his local shops to see what tuning services they offer.

Tired of everyone confusing using OPENECU with using ECU-flash. BIG BIG difference.

sorry, i assumed you were saying he should bring the openecu tools to his tuner... i don't think major companies will use the 'free' software, but i may be wrong.

Yeah I'm going to go to dyno-comp. Since I'm installing all fuel mods I might as well see what he can tweek out of the factory turbo too. I'll be going in on the 27th to talk shop. Thanks for the comments.

Got the car tuned by Richard yesterday. From a base hp of 166 i got up to 238 hp. The car is completely different now. He did a great job. The total cost was more than i wanted but i'm happy with the result. I'll post the dyno log when i get back to canada.

That sucks.. Have a safe trip back. Remember we have a contact list posted if you need help call one of us and we can try and track help down for you.
Even if your out of our area, We can still try and help find someone that can.

Be careful in the bad weather into Colorado.

Take a lot of pictures. Have alot of fun. If you need a place to host them let me know. I can put them up on boostedsubie for you.
