Default In Car Video of the Nov 18th RallyX in WI

This is a cross post but since most people don't read the Midwest forum is they arent from the midwest I thought I would share. The Race'n was awesome ( I was a spectator and from my view it was very cool)

Took me aroung 12 hours to put it together and get it edited the way I wanted. Also the Audio mix was some fun to deal with.

This is VERY much worth a look at, everyone I demo'd them to thought they were "freak'n awesome" The Video is 13 Minutes long, and has a nicely edited sound track.

There are 2 versions:

HQ version - 500k/sec 50mb
LQ Ver - 250k/sec 25mb

Direct links to them are here:
HQ-> http://www.procooling.com/~clegg/rallyx/RallyXHQ.wmv
LQ-> http://www.procooling.com/~clegg/rallyx/RallyXLQ.wmv

( to save these to your HD, right click on the link and pick "Save Target As")

This is not just a tied together video segments, this is a pretty professional production. the camera work could use some tweaking, but I learned a but about how the mount works and ways I can improve it. Enjoy!

www.ProCooling.com ( my site and my server) is paying for the bandwith these videos are gunna use, just FYI

Very well done Joe. It's almost like being there

Question: What editing program did you use to get 13 minutes of video onto less than 50MB? I have one of me doing a Full Face Mask Communication Scuba Dive and the 13 minutes of video is 648MB... How'd ya do it?

Thanks,
Mario

Cool! Great work!
I wish we had a site like that to run on. Our track is too rough for me to consider running the WRX on. I rent a car to beat on! Last event it was a new Grand Am.

I did the editing with Adobe Premire 6.01 and then compressed it with the Advanced Windows Media export. I built my own compression rules in the Windows media so I could get the video's the audio and vid levels of compression I was looking for. the source material was around 2GB big all together. so mixing and editing it down to 50 mb is not to bad

I was going to use Avid DVExpress but it was a bit more of a pain.

I used to be a producer at the local public school system TV channel. and have about 4 years of production experience, been out of it for too long so it was fun to do a fairly high quality production with the low ends tools I have avilable.
