Default trading ecutec for stock?

is it possible for me to trade my friend my ecu with ecutec for his stock ecu?should i put his mapping in it before or after we switch? is it even possible to switch with out it resetting? what should i do please help

if you have the same mods just swap the ecu's. You wont be able to read the ecutek map because it's more than likely locked out. As soon as you unplug the ecu it's reset anyway.

well if i put my friends base map in my car then install it in his it will work?
or will he have to reinstall the ecutec to have any change in performance?
if he cannot intall it when we trade its gonna screw up my plans!big time

honestly, can't really figure out exactly what you are asking.... but,

ecutek license stays within the ECU. If you swap the ecus (assuming that same year model), both car will run, but not smoothly as butter. if you list mods of both cars, that'll be more hopeful.

If it's ECUTEK'ed then you cannot copy any maps since after around October of 2005 ECUTEK started to lock out their ECU's. Only an ECUTEK dealer can do this.
