Default Noob questions!

Sorry for the noob questions. I've started reading about open source but there is sooo much threads and info. I will just ask the questions.

I have a 2002/2003 ecu in my 2005 wrx with the EcuTeK license. I just received my Tactrix cable and want to datalog. Is it doable? with what
software? Enginuity, EcuExplorer?

I know that EcuTeK came up with a way to lock out open source programs from downloading the image a year ago, but I just want to datalog for now
while I'm looking for a spare ecu.

Thanks for your help.

Kos

I use EcuExplorer.

I think you'll need to install EcuEdit to get the driver for the cable.

Yes, you can datalog using EcuExplorer and Enginuity is also coming along with logging features. I personally use EcuExplorer for logging until Enginuity is mature enough for me to use.

To get the drivers, you'll need to install ECUFlash.

Overall, you can't go wrong for the price. And later on, you can flash your car with your own maps.
