We're very happy you're good at what you do. But to draw any comparison between proofing an ad vs. an entire magazine is not even close to being an accurate comparison. Nobody understands that until they do it for a living.

Yes, we constantly strive to improve, but the "high school writing" comment isn't a criticism. It's petty.

Now, back on topic.

Ryan Douthit, Publisher
Subiesport Magazine
i do admit the high school part was a bit petty. i'll retract that it is petty to continuously mention that something will be selling on eBay soon. i do not have the article in front of me, but the way that it was written sounded like a bitter kid who is mad they paid full price for something.

i can back my statements up. I DO this for a living. I am an Advertising Director. it is my responsibility to make sure things are correct before they are printed. While I do not make 40+page magazines, I did just put out a 16 page 4/4 brochure the other day. Myself. I have thankfully yet to find an error. I am sure there is one... I also worked for a magazine before this gig, so I know how it works.

i think that if you challenged yourselves to put some more time into writing a quality piece, you would have a much better magazine.

I love it, intellectual (kind of) e-thuggery with nebulous comments about "that one article that I can't remember but I seem to recall sounding like..."

Anywho, how about that project Legacy? I am jealous, Kendrick's car get's all the love. I guess I am just going to have to get some well-endowed Asian girl to sit on the hood to get some recognition for the beast.

If you didn't care for a particular article, I'd like to know. We have many contributors and, granted, some are better than others. Just like any magazine. If you think someone sounds like a whiner. Point out the article and we'll take it under consideration.

Critical, but specific, commentary makes us better. Sorry to say, fullerton, but you haven't provided any of that yet. So it's hard to take your posts to heart.

Oh, and if you ever met MeanEditor in person, you'd understand that he's being inflammatory on purpose. We're pretty sure he had a despressing childhood and he's taking it out on the world in his own special way.

That is a much better response than insulting me like the original one. Truthfully never thought my comment would go in that direction, but it grew, and I'd rather not page through the mag to critique it specifically. I just stated my overall opinion of the 5 or 6 articles I read one night.

Just because I was beaten as a child does not mean that I am taking it out on the rest of the world, Ryan.

But I have a special place in my heart for anyone who says "you suck" and then does not say why; when that happens, it's time to have a little fun. Besides, English majors are just failed journalists, especially from prestigious, small liberal arts colleges.

For those that have enjoyed the magazine, I think this is one of our best yet. As this year goes on the tech stuff and builds will get a bit more heavy. At the moment I am trying to add another pony to our project car stable. Many of you have asked for more builds and how-tos, so hopefully we can fulfill alot of that. The 97 GT beast was a bit of a thrash, this next one we will take some time with.

Now I will retire to my room under the stairs for some self-flagellation to remind me what a rotten little kid I am.

Thanks for the feedback, it was a bitch to write as I had to contact about 900 people to glean LSD information off of. You would be shocked to see how many Vendors are clueless about what they sell.

Try a borders if you can, I know that they carry it. Also, this issue just came out so it may take some time to get on the shelf. Remember, some guy has to take the mags from the shipping boxes and put them out on the rack and at a big newsstand, there might be a few hundred titles to contend with so it might take a few days from the time the individual stores get the mag. Ask who the magazine guy is at your store and see if he has it or not. They all carry it, or at least should.

Then again, we can sell out in under a week. Subscribing is your friend.

So this issue is supposed to be out in stores by now? I haven't seen it in the B&N or Borders that usually carry it yet.

Yeah, forgot about the "week off" distribution takes around new years, so it will be on shelves THIS weekend, not LAST weekend.

Dear MeanEditor,

It seems a little ugly and juvenile to be like 'oh yeah, well what do you know!' when someone is critical of your work. I'm not siding with the Other Guy, just so you know. But we, here, are the readers of your mag. Your tone of reproach leaves your image a bit dimished, if you ask me. I don't know Other Guy, and won't think of him again. But when I see Subiesport on the rack, I will remember that there was this editor guy that was just a little insulting towards a reader. Diplomacy is painful sometimes, but makes a difference when you're selling a product...

My opinion.

We got a two page display of our car! WoOt! Subie Sports for the win! I'm also in the magazine too. But...I wasn't told by any of you...what's up with that?! I'm offended that the pic of me wasn't bigger too! Come on! I'm the embodiment of Zero/Sports in the states. (ok, maybe not the full embodiment. but moreso the only representation of Zero/Sports)

So to appease me, I demand another issue with me in it. A bigger pic with my bio! WoOt. Yes, yes. Then I will be appeased. =P

Back to this month's issue though, I definately like the cover. One of the best covers I've seen for Subie Sports. Lots of good info in it too. Kudos for Subie Sport. Special thanks to Ryan, Travis, Justin, and Yuji. Great guys if anyone gets the chance to meet them.
