Default 97 LGT brake upgrade

I have a 97 LGT and have done a ton of searching on brake upgrades and have decided to do the stock wrx setup on the front, and I've been reading about the H6 upgrade for the rear and have some questions.

I know you need the H6 rotors, and caliper brackets, but why do you need the wrx pad kit? Do you just keep your stock GT calipers and put the wrx pads in or do you replace the stock GT calipers with wrx rear calipers? I understand the idea of the lager rear rotors, but what do you do with the calipers? Any help on this would be great!

It's been awhile since I've done it, but I pretty much followed the guides on scoobymods.

On a side note, how soon are you looking to upgrade?

I'm going to swapping my WRX fronts and H6 rears to STI brembo's front and rears in the near future.

I'm in the process of hunting and gathering right now. The only thing I've bought is some front wrx calipers. I would be willing to just hold off until you are doing your upgrade if you want to make me a deal. I would love to get all the parts from one source, and love to barter, as I have some parts laying around my shop. How long until yuo think you will be upgrading to the Brembos?

I need to get my ride back up and running soon. I'm in the process of sourcing a STI 6 speed so I need the rear diff before I can put my Brembo's on.

I would say a month or maybe slightly longer, but not much. I have no idea where Thorp is, but at least you live in my state.

The pads I'm running are semi-metallic hawk pads which are pretty nice. Along with the brake upgrades I'd suggest getting some stainless brake lines for your upgrade too.

Yeah that sounds good. I'm willing to wait cause money is tight right now. I will keep in touch, and maybe since we are in the same state, we could avoid shipping! Thorp is located in Central Washington right off I-90, 101 miles East from Seattle, and is the town right before Ellensburg (Central Washington University). I definately want SS brake lines for my upgrade. That 6 speed sounds pretty cool, and expensive!
